Corrections Policy

The Daily Commerce corrects its mistakes. Accuracy matters more to us than the discomfort of admitting we got something wrong.

If you see an error, email [corrections@thedailycommerce.com] with a link to the article and a description of the issue. We read every message.

How we handle corrections:

  • Factual errors — a wrong name, date, figure, title, or similar — are corrected in the article as soon as we can verify the fix. A note is added at the bottom of the piece stating what was changed and when.
  • Significant errors that affect the substance of a story (a mischaracterized event, a misattributed claim) are corrected the same way, with a more detailed editor’s note explaining what was wrong and what the article now says.
  • Typos, grammar, and formatting fixes are made without a public note, since they don’t affect what the article reported.

We do not delete or unpublish articles to avoid admitting an error. Corrected articles stay up, with the correction visible, so readers can see what changed and why.

If you believe an article is unfair rather than factually wrong, email the same address — we’ll read it, though not every complaint results in a change. Editorial judgment and factual error are different things, and we try to be clear with ourselves about which one we’re looking at.
