The Daily Commerce is publishing again after a break of about two months.
We paused in July. The honest reasons were funding and people: the outlet ran out of the runway that was keeping it going, and around the same time we lost staff we needed to keep daily coverage moving. Rather than publish inconsistently or cut corners on accuracy, we stopped and took the time to sort things out properly.
The break came with a real cost: our previous archive didn’t survive it. Our hosting lapsed while we were sorting things out, and the original posts weren’t recoverable. If you’re looking for something you read here before and can’t find it, that’s why we don’t have it, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise.
We’re back now, on more solid footing, with the same focus we started with: the business events shaping commerce across the United States and Europe, company strategy, markets, trade, technology, regulation, and economic policy.
Thank you to everyone who kept reading, linking, and citing us even while the site was down. We know a two-month gap costs trust, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. The best way we know to earn it back is to just keep publishing, carefully, starting today.
If you were a reader before: welcome back. If you’re new: welcome. Either way, thanks for being here for it.
